Growing Up Green Outside Play Area

We have three separate outside areas which all children have access to at different times of the day, and for different activities.

We have used a variety of different play surfaces in each area - decking, artificial lawn and natural grass - and a range of moveable structures, toys and activities. Each area is designed to the highest safety standards. We also have a vegetable patch, maintained by the children with a little adult guidance and support!

The outdoor areas provide the space to explore and the equipment to stimulate sensory-motor skills, encourage development, and most importantly, encourage children to have a great time playing.

We use the outdoors for guided activity, as well as for unstructured free play. Staff work hard to plan the outdoor environment, dependant on age, to extend children's learning and provide opportunities for all children to participate in a wide range of activities.

Babies are taken on walks in double buggies as much as possible and our older children have weekly opportunities to go to local parks to explore, learn and have fun!

All our children have daily opportunities to go outside, apart from in extreme weather!
