Growing Up Green Toddlers

The toddler room provides a stimulating and inviting environment in a room specifically designed with toddlers in mind, and offers a wide range of equipment and activities to stimulate intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially; encouraging learning through play. Like all of our rooms it is spacious and has large windows that let in plenty of natural light. We have retained and restored lots of the features of what was originally a grand family home. This has helped create a homely and welcoming atmosphere combined with the highest standard of furnishings and resources.

Staff carefully set up the toddler room daily, making sure that there are plenty of activities on offer and space for children to move around the learning environment freely. The room has several different areas, set up and planned for weekly, daily and sometimes hourly! These include a creative area, sand and water areas, maths area, I.C.T, construction, small world, exploratory, book/cosy/quiet corner and role play. All of our toy boxes are at the children's level and clearly labelled with photographs and writing so children can access resources independently. Our toddler room routine allows plenty of choice and free play with activities encouraging children to learn through play. We have special helpers at meal times and a kindness tree to celebrate and encourage positive behaviour.
