Growing Up Green

Our Staff

Growing Up Green is owned and overseen by Adrienne Blackwell and Clare Crosby-Adams. Both are qualified and experienced teachers. Furthermore, before forming a partnership, Adrienne was previously a successful primary school deputy head whilst Clare had owned and managed a children’s nursery for many years in Cambridgeshire. Both are also mothers, with children who have attended the nursery.

We have an experienced full time manager and deputy manager at both settings who work closely alongside Clare and Adrienne. The recruitment and retention of staff is a priority at Growing Up Green. We know how important it is for children to establish a sense of stability and security. To try and ensure this we carefully select our staff, offering a highly competitive package and supportive working conditions. Once working with us staff have regular appraisals and are encouraged to take up a range of training opportunities to foster their professional development. Happy staff mean happy children and we aim to keep all our staff motivated by holding regular staff meetings as well as team building events. Our purpose is to facilitate an environment where all staff have the confidence to communicate effectively with each other, the children and their families.

Each child is assigned a nursery practitioner as a key person. Key people have special responsibility for the children assigned to them; over time they develop an important relationship with children and their families. Alongside nursery practitioners, room leaders take overall responsibility for the day to day running of each room.

The majority of our staff hold relevant childcare qualifications (NVQ level 6,3 or 2). We also have EYP’S (Early Years Professionals) at both nurseries. Those that do not are currently working towards a formal childcare qualification.
