Early Years Entitlement – Funding
We recognise that the funding for childcare can be quite confusing to our families! We want to help make things as simple as possible and support our families every step of the way.
Eligibility
Early Years Funding Entitlement (EYFE) is available from the term after your child turns 9 months old until they go to school (dependent on eligibility). Families can receive up to 30 hours of funded childcare for children 9 months+.
Universal Funding (this is applicable for all children, the term after they turn 3 years old, regardless of eligibility criteria. This provides 15 hours of funded childcare.
If you or your child receives extra support, you may be eligible for a separate scheme instead. Find out about free education and childcare for 2 year olds if you get extra support.
Please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for more information about eligibility criteria and how to apply for your funded hours.
The standard 15 or 30 hours funding is usually spread over 38 weeks of the year in term-time only settings. We are NOT a term-time only setting; however, we do offer a limited number of term-time only funded places. (dependent on availability)
We stretch our funding to apply up to 11 hours (for a child eligible for 15 hours) or 22 hours of funding (for a child eligible for 30 hours) over 51 weeks of the year.
This means the funding is applied consistently over the course of the year, and you are not left with any unfunded weeks to pay for.
The funded hours provide basic nursery care; however, this does not cover the cost of the full GUG experience. Therefore, we offer an enhanced provision option in order to give your children the best early years’ experience possible, which will come at a small additional cost.
